FREELOADER
An off-line browser. The cool thing
about this type of software, is seeing
how fast the pages load from the
hardrive instead of the internet. It
doesn't do Java!!! Like really cool
dude, like. (3.0MB)

HOT PAGE PLUS DE
Hot page adds a menu to your
browser. It supports both Netscape
and that other one. When you click
on the Hot page button it saves the
current web page, graphics and all,
to it's 'in' basket. Later you transfer
and categorize the pages in a filing
cabinet like thing-a-ma-jig. Simple eh?

NET VAMPIRE
I vant to suck you blood. Nothing
ghoulish about this product. It
schedules downloads and does the
file download unattended (freeing you
to watch television or some other life
or death matter). It can even continue
a download at a later time (if the
server supports this). (1.1MB)

ALEXA
This product helps you surf (the web
not water). It gives background information
(if it has any) on the sites you visit. It can also
give you where-to-go suggestions (I guess you
better not tick it off). It also (supposedly) archives
past pages so if you get the dreaded 404 error it can
bring up the original page - if it ever existed. (1.7MB)

WEB TURBO
This program gives little previews of
upcoming web pages. It also has a search
feature that lets you search multiple engines.
It is free because it is ad supported. I found it
rather annoying though. They try and load too
many ads, constantly changing them, which is
both annoying and also wastes bandwidth. (1.6MB)

NETMETER
Check your bandwidth. See if your internet provider is "giving
it to you". Or perhaps it is just a slow server. Whichever, this
meter gives you a real-time look. (28KB)
DOWNLOAD
FASTNET
This program is supposed to speed up web surfing. I don't think
it will help much. It puts a DNS lookup on your desktop so your
browser doesn't have to find a website's DNS number. This is
not the slowest part of the process and will probably only save
a couple seconds. (1.9MB)
HOMEPAGE | | DOWNLOAD
NETSONIC
Works with your browser to cache pages. Checks to see if pages
and images have changed. If not, it will reload the image from
cache speeding your web-surfing. Of course my hardrive is so
small that I always empty the cache. So it won't help me. (811KB)

multiple downloads. Do two downloads at once (hope you have a cable
modem). (744KB)

AOL PRESS
It's from AOL so naturally any idiot can use it.
That's why I tried it. Can't get a whole lot dumber
than me (though it seems great numbers of people
come close on a daily basis). The program does
tables, forms and other stuff. You don't even have to
know what HTML means to use it (what does HTML
mean?). (3.18MB)

JMK JAVASCRIPT EDITOR VER. 2.0
Author just released his Ver. 2
The title seems pretty self-explanatory so I won't
bore you with my take on it. On second
thought, this helps in writing Javascript. You
still need to learn the scripting language but this
helps ease your writing chores and helps to keep
you from making those syntax errors
that are forever plaguing me. (5.2 MB)

SUBMISSION WIZARD
This is supposed to automate submitting your web
pages to the search engines. Mine wasn't much of a
wizard though. It kept telling me I had no valid internet
connection. I wonder how I downloaded it without one?
I heard it was a wiz of a wiz if ever a wiz there was.
If ever wherever a wiz there was this wizard would be
one because, because, because, because, because....
because of the wonderful things it should do. I'm off to
find a new wizard.... (2.3MB)

without knowing any programming. Let's
slow the web down some more!!! Put as
many applets as you can!!! Visitors will be

original. Download this and make your pages

JAVASCRIPT DEBUGGER
This is Netscape's preview release of their
Javascript debugger. It is a beta that TIMES-OUT.
I assume it will continue to be free on the final
release so I'm listing it here. If it is not free after
the final release, please send Netscape an E-mail
explaining what complete idiots they are. I would
think it may eventually come with the browser. This
requires Netscape communicator to be installed. Seems
to use a lot of system resources. (357KB)

W3e
An excellent HTML editor. It does the
basics plus has some advanced features.
It has some prewritten javascripts. It can

THINKING IN JAVA (A book - NOT software)
This is a complete book on Java programming.
A nice language to learn if you want to avoid the
EVIL EMPIRE'S scourge. Though the EVIL

language's platform independence (way to go
Bill). The book comes in PDF format which can
be read with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

UGLY JAVASCRIPT (A BOOK - NOT SOFTWARE)
This is a small book or tutorial on Javascript.

Javascript is becoming widely used on the web, so
it is quite useful to learn. (364KB)

For programmers who wish to make their
own applets and applications using Java.
Seems to be a good way to break the EVIL
EMPIRE'S stranglehold on us poor netizens.
Java makes Windows less important. Developers
don't need to write for more than one platform. Only
problem seems to be that Java runs fairly slow. As
computers get more powerful though this would
seem to become less important. Jump on the Java
bandwagon (Bill Gates won't, isn't that reason
enough?). Comes with a bunch of free applets too!!!
Some of this is DOS stuff. (8.0MB)

switch to shareware. (2.3MB)
